Bert Mandelbaum, MD


Bert Mandelbaum, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon, a member of the Board of Directors and co-chair of medical affairs at the renowned Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, as well as the published author of “The Win Within: Capturing Your Victorious Spirit.” He has over three decades of experience covering a range of orthopaedic, adult, and pediatric sports medicine, and overall wellness topics.

Dr. Mandelbaum currently serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Major League Soccer, Medical Director for the FIFA Medical Center of Excellence in Santa Monica, Co-Director of The USOC CSS National Medical Center of Excellence and resides on the USOC National Medical Network Advisory Group. He has served as director of research for Major League Baseball and team physician for numerous collegiate and Major League Soccer teams, as well as for the U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team. He currently serves as medical director of the FIFA Medical Center of Excellence in Santa Monica, and on the U.S. Olympic Committee National Medical Network Advisory Group.

Dr. Mandelbaum also served as Chief Medical Officer for the 2015 World Special Olympic Games in Los Angeles; Chief Medical Director for the 2016 Copa America Centenario and CONCACAF; FIFA IOC Medical Officer for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Chief Medical Officer for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He is a member of multiple professional medical societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

In addition to authoring and co-authoring a bevy of clinical research on a variety of orthopaedic topics, Dr. Mandelbaum has received numerous public accolades including designation as a Super Doctor in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery for a consecutive 12-year period since 2007. Dr. Mandelbaum is also a frequent medical expert contributor to mainstream media publications and websites including Medscape, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports, MSN and Men’s Health, as well as local and television news outlets, including NBC, ABC and Fox television affiliates.

Aaron Calodney, MD

Aaron Calodney, MD earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed a family medicine internship at St Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York. His residency in anesthesiology and subsequent interventional pain management fellowship was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After spending several years as a faculty member in the Department of Anesthesiology at the UT medical school in Houston, Dr. Calodney moved to East Texas where he has practiced since 1991.

Dr. Calodney is Past President of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), he previously served on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). He is Past President of the Texas Pain Society. Dr. Calodney serves on the advisory Board for the World Institute of Pain (WIP). He has served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of Education for the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) where he is a Master Instructor. Dr. Calodney is a lecturer and examiner for the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP), and the Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) certifying examinations. Dr. Calodney is board certified in Anesthesiology and carries subspecialty certification in Pain Management through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP).

Richard Rosenthal, MD

Richard Rosenthal, M.D. is board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Interventional Pain Medicine. He graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1985. In 1993 he graduated from an anesthesia residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio Medical Center. He is the Founder, President, and Medical Director of Nexus Pain Specialists.

Dr. Rosenthal has distinguished himself as a leader in educating and training medical professionals in the fields of Interventional Pain and Regenerative Medicine. He is the editor of the interventional pain section of the widely read journal, Practical Pain Management.  He developed a one year pain medicine fellowship which teaches young physicians a variety of skills in Interventional Pain and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Rosenthal is a master instructor for the prestigious Spine Intervention Society.  He has taught physicians in both the United States and Europe how to correctly perform various spinal procedures.  He has authored several scientific articles and book chapters on topics in the specialty of pain medicine. He is also involved in clinical research and has served as an expert witness in malpractice cases. His clinic was awarded the Excellence in Multi-disciplinary Pain Care Award by the World Institute of Pain (one of only 4 clinics in the United States to receive the award in 2011).

Dr. Rosenthal has been practicing Regenerative Medicine for the past several years. He has acted as Course Director for more than 25 Regenerative Medicine courses and has lectured at national conferences.  He specializes in the use of stem cells and platelet rich plasma for the treatment of painful joints, including the knee, hip and shoulder. His treatments are based on a comprehensive approach to relieve pain and improve function.  Dr. Rosenthal has lectured on the topic of Regenerative Medicine, especially Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cells treatments, for such prestigious organizations as the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Society for Pain Practice Management.

George Chang Chien, DO

George C. Chang Chien, D.O. specializes in regenerative musculoskeletal medicine and comprehensive pain management. He was trained in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, the #1 ranked rehabilitation hospital in the United States since 1991. After completion of his physiatry training, he completed fellowship training in comprehensive pain medicine at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Anesthesiology Institute.

Dr. Chang Chien has authored over 100 manuscripts on a variety of topics including regenerative medicine, orthopedics, and advanced interventional procedural medicine. He has active research in regenerative medicine applications for medical aesthetics, pain management, sports-related injuries, and has been a collaborator on multiple multi-center studies.

Dr. Chang Chien speaks regularly throughout the world on regenerative medicine and pain management. His professional teaching experience includes being a CIPS examiner for the World Institute of Pain, ABIPP examiner for regenerative medicine and interventional pain, ultrasound course director at the Cleveland Clinic, regenerative medicine course director for American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Society for Pain Practice Management.

Dr. Chang Chien specializes in all aspects of regenerative medicine and has distinct expertise in platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow aspiration for stem cells (BMAC), and adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC).

Robert Kinne, MD

Robert Kinne, M.D. is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, after which he completed his residency in PM&R. Following, he completed two fellowships: the first in Interventional Spine and Pain Management and the second in Primary Care Sports Medicine, both with an emphasis on traditional as well as biologic cell treatments.

Dr. Kinne has a passion for sports and musculoskeletal medicine, utilizing both fluoroscopy and ultrasound in his daily practice. He has served as a team physician for multiple affiliated minor league hockey and baseball teams as well as NCAA universities. He remains committed to providing both traditional and novel treatment options for his patients and is well versed in many modalities. He has utilized and maintains expertise in various regenerative medicine applications including Platelet Rich Plasma, Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate and Adipose-derived MSCs for treatment of a variety of sports, spine, joint and other musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

Outside of his clinical practice, he remains active in teaching, having provided lectures and hands-on training in ultrasound, fluoroscopic-guided procedures and regenerative medicine throughout the United States for numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institute. He stays involved with these societies as well as the Spine Intervention Society, Interventional Orthopedics Foundation and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also serves as a Peer Reviewer for the Biologic Orthopedics Journal, a leading publication in high-quality biologic cell treatment research.

When not working, he loves spending time with his daughters and wife and serves as the pitching coach for a local high school baseball team.


Joel Baumgartner, MD

Dr. Joel Baumgartner is a board certified physician with a specialized fellowship in non-surgical orthopedics and sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, and completed his family practice residency at the University of North Dakota. Dr. Baumgartner completed his advanced training in sports medicine with a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Dr. Baumgartner utilizes the latest in diagnostic and treatment technology to better treat musculoskeletal injury and pain. As an international speaker, he instructs both physicians and those in the medical industry on pain evaluation, diagnosis and the latest treatment options. Dr. Baumgartner is the CEO of Rejuv Medical; a renowned sports medicine, orthopedic services, and wellness company specializing in medically supervised preventative and post-injury health and fitness services. Focus is placed on uncovering the source of the pain and treating it effectively; not masking it with addictive medications.

Dr. Baumgartner has authored a book on Prolotherapy and PRP technique, He is also a contributing author on the subject of pain management for a variety of other popular publications. His family and faith remain his priority.

Shounuck Patel, DO

Dr. Patel is double board-cerfitied in sports medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation, as well as fellowship trained in interventional pain management. He focuses his clinical practice on the use of exercise, nutrition, osteopathic manipulation, and natural therapies such as regenerative cell therapy for the treatment of orthopedic injuries and pain conditions.


Dr. Patel earned his degrees across the nation at the George Washington University in Washington DC, Drexel University in Philadelphia, and Midwestern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago. He completed his residency at the prestigious Kessler Institute in New Jersey, fellowship with the Orthopedic and Spine Specialists hospital of Pennsylvania, and advanced regenerative medicine training with Regenexx and the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation (IOF) – a non-profit for which he became a master instructor for other physicians and Chair of the Curriculum Committee.

Dr. Patel is an invited speaker and instructor for medical conferences and courses across the world. In addition to teaching physicians, Dr. Patel is an associate clinical professor for medical students at the Western University and Touro University Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. 

Alberto Panero, DO

Dr. Panero is board certified in in physical medicine & rehabilitation with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He is the founder of The BIOS Orthopedic Institute where he practices out of Sacramento, CA. He serves as core faculty for the University of California, Davis PM&R Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is regarded as one of the experts in orthobiologics (PRP & “Stem Cells”) and musculoskeletal ultrasound, having published on several respective topics. He has also presented his research and interventional orthopedic techniques at the top orthopedic and sports medicine conferences.  Dr. Panero is highly involved in the sports community in Sacramento, serving as team physician for Sacramento State University, Sacramento River Cats – Triple A – Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, as well as the recently awarded MLS expansion team, the Sacramento Republic F.C.

During high school and college, Dr. Panero was an elite athlete who ran track and field as well as played baseball and soccer. He was part of the United States’ Soccer Olympic Development Program and competed in tournaments throughout the USA, France, and his home country of Argentina. Although recurrent ankle injuries cut his athletic career short, they also drove him to a career as a Sports Medicine Physician. Dr. Panero has now channeled that same passion to help professional athletes and weekend warriors achieve optimal recovery without surgical intervention. He embraces the physiatric approach to care, which involves looking at the whole person, and not just one symptom.  More importantly, he is a true believer in the humanity of medicine, caring emphatically for all of his patients.

Christy Davies, MBA

Christy achieved her MBA in Healthcare Administration from Regis University and has an undergraduate in Healthcare Finance. She has been an advisor and mentor to many facility administrators across the country as well as sat on many medical association boards. Christy has devoted the past 10 years of her career to business development for regenerative medicine and excels in helping physicians implement and grow their regenerative medicine practices.

Christy also is a sought after speaker on the subject speaking nationally for many groups as well as a guest author on the soon to be released ASIPP Regenerative Medicine Book & A Practical Guide To Building A Cash Practice- Why Sticking to the Norm of Healthcare Will Be The Fall of the Independent Practitioner. 

 As a entrepreneur herself she, her husband & now her daughter independently own & operate multiple businesses as well as joint ventures with others. Christy stands behind her own journey, shares her story with others on how to make a quantum leap in building business and works side by side with physicians on how to turn from being enslaved to the insurance model to building a practice that grows and thrives, avoiding burnout as well as growing beyond the 1:1 patient physician ratio.

During her down time, she and her husband enjoy their life in Idaho with their daughter Rose showing livestock and promoting agriculture across the country.
